Apart from the ridiculously long flight we are here, in one piece, with all baggage and no major dramas (including no sinus related issues for Claire).
Apart from the length, the flight was good. Except that they still insist that we turn right when we get on the plane instead of left. The flight crew were pleasant and were generous with the wine refills along the way. In fact, they encouraged it! Air New Zealand have managed to make the flight safety instructions almost entertaining with Bear Grylls leading a video through the Routeburn Track with the safety procedures! Clever and entertaining and certainty one that Carrie managed to stay awake for.
We have now arrived in our hotel which seems to be located well for shopping and we will venture out shortly to do some and get something to eat!
Weather is beautiful but warm in the sun. Should be nice for our baseball game tomorrow evening, GO GIANTS!!! There are signs up all of the place for the game and plenty of people walking around in Giants clothing etc.
